Infant Frenectomy

For a newborn, lip-tie or tongue-tie can make breastfeeding difficult for the infant and painful for the mother because the lip and/or tongue's limited movement prevents the infant from properly latching on and drawing milk from the breast. If left untreated, it can eventually impair the child's speech and proper tooth alignment. The newborns we treat should nurse immediately and sometimes moms will notice a very significant difference both in the quantity that the newborn consumes as well as their personal comfort while nursing.

Lip-tie and tongue-tie can be corrected by a procedure called frenectomy/frenotomy. This can be performed with scissors or a soft tissue laser. It is a simple in office procedure which can be performed by Dr. Thomas.

Sedation for Nervous Patients

We offer IV and oral sedation for our patients that are very nervous about the dentist or for those who need extensive treatment.

Since we take your child’s safety and health very seriously, we only work with the most experienced and qualified doctors. Dr. Dennis Stone is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is the founding member of the Division of Anesthesiology of The Nemours Children’s Clinic. Dr. Stone is a pediatric anesthesiologist with over twenty years experience providing relaxing care to child patients in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. For more information, please visit Dr. Stone’s website.

First Tooth, First Visit

Come in on the month of your child's first birthday and receive a complimentary "First Tooth, First Visit" exam.

For new parents, we follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry “first visit by the first birthday”. Recognizing the short attention span of younger children, we will perform an exam, demonstrate proper oral hygiene techniques, and discuss your child’s eating, feeding and oral habits.

We understand how intimidating a first visit can be for children and their parents. For this reason we strive to have a welcoming and comfortable office for you and your children. Please download our informational handout in order to help your child familiarize themselves with our practice. In addition, please print and complete our first visit form and bring it with you to your child's scheduled appointment.

Smile Whitening

We're now offering in-office whitening as well as many effective home options. There is no comparison to the personal care and attention you get from Dr. Carly Thomas and her team. We start the whitening process in the office, and follow up with an in-home whitening regimen for outstanding results. Ask how you can have a beautiful white smile to look your best!

The common silver filling contains mercury. Our practice uses the highest-quality biocompatible, tooth-colored restorations to create healthy, beautiful smiles. Since the composite material adheres directly to the tooth enamel, less preparation of the tooth is required before using it. This means it is more durable and provides a more natural-looking result.

Composite bonding resin is a white, tooth colored material that can be shaded to match your teeth. This material can give you a low-cost improvement in your smile.

Many everyday things like coffee, tea and wine can significantly dull teeth. Smile-whitening enables us to significantly brighten your smile for that dazzling white smile you deserve.

Plastic whitening trays will be made from models of your teeth. You will then place a special whitening gel in each tray and wear the trays in your mouth for several hours per day. (Many patients wear trays after dinner and before bed.) A significant change in tooth color is usually seen in just four to six weeks.

Correct tongue-ties or lip-ties safely and easily so your child can be as healthy and comfortable as possible.

Lip-tie and tongue-tie can be corrected by a procedure called frenectomy/frenotomy. This can be performed with scissors or a soft tissue laser. It is a simple in office procedure which can be performed by Dr. Thomas.

Our use of digital x-ray technology and 3D digital imaging technology reduces your radiation exposure and eliminates the use of chemicals. We can see and treat problems long before they become visible on traditional x-rays. The increased precision means saving you time and money and avoiding complications with your treatments.

Online patient forms and convenient appointment requests ensures that your child gets the proper dental care they deserve more easily than ever before.

Laser dentistry is a highly-effective, gentle way to treat gum disease, remove bacteria, and re-contour gum lines after cosmetic dentistry. Laser dentistry is a more comfortable, accurate way to produce excellent results.

This amazing hand-held device allows our doctors to give a bright detailed view of your mouth and teeth which is really helpful when discussing treatment or care concerns. There’s no pain or discomfort and the camera allows our patients to see a full color current picture of their teeth, fillings, gums while they sit comfortably. Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, we find video of your mouth to be an incredible tool to help our patients understand our recommendations or instructions.

We take pride in making your child’s dental experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Our team will greet you and your little one with a smile and offer a tour of the office to make them feel more comfortable. Our practice features comfortable seating, movies and music for our patients, wifi, toys, activities, and the newest technology for the most efficient treatments with minimal discomfort.
