Infant Frenectomy

For a newborn, lip-tie or tongue-tie can make breastfeeding difficult for the infant and painful for the mother because the lip and/or tongue's limited movement prevents the infant from properly latching on and drawing milk from the breast. If left untreated, it can eventually impair the child's speech and proper tooth alignment. The newborns we treat should nurse immediately and sometimes moms will notice a very significant difference both in the quantity that the newborn consumes as well as their personal comfort while nursing.

Lip-tie and tongue-tie can be corrected by a procedure called frenectomy/frenotomy. This can be performed with scissors or a soft tissue laser. It is a simple in office procedure which can be performed by Dr. Thomas.

Sedation for Nervous Patients

We offer IV and oral sedation for our patients that are very nervous about the dentist or for those who need extensive treatment.

Since we take your child's safety and health very seriously, we only work with the most experienced and qualified doctors. The common silver filling contains mercury. Our practice uses the highest-quality biocompatible, tooth-colored restorations to create healthy, beautiful smiles. Since the composite material adheres directly to the tooth enamel, less preparation of the tooth is required before using it. This means it is more durable and provides a more natural-looking result.

Composite bonding resin is a white, tooth colored material that can be shaded to match your teeth. This material can give you a low-cost improvement in your smile.

Many everyday things like coffee, tea and wine can significantly dull teeth. Smile-whitening enables us to significantly brighten your smile for that dazzling white smile you deserve.

Plastic whitening trays will be made from models of your teeth. You will then place a special whitening gel in each tray and wear the trays in your mouth for several hours per day. (Many patients wear trays after dinner and before bed.) A significant change in tooth color is usually seen in just four to six weeks.

Our use of digital x-ray technology and 3D digital imaging technology reduces your radiation exposure and eliminates the use of chemicals. We can see and treat problems long before they become visible on traditional x-rays. The increased precision means saving you time and money and avoiding complications with your treatments.

Online patient forms and convenient appointment requests ensures that your child gets the proper dental care they deserve more easily than ever before.

Laser dentistry is a highly-effective, gentle way to treat gum disease, remove bacteria, and re-contour gum lines after cosmetic dentistry. Laser dentistry is a more comfortable, accurate way to produce excellent results.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

The Effect of GERD on the Teeth: When Stomach acid (pH 2) arises into the mouth, the teeth can be affected. We have observed areas of dental erosion in your child’s teeth. This takes the form of “reverse architecture” in that what were once cusp tips are now areas pot holes or moon cratering.
